Letter From The Editor

Spring is here already and we are quickly approaching the Florida rainy season.

We've been so busy here at The Plate Lady™ ® that we haven't had a chance to update our Newsletter in quite some time and we apologize if we have not kept you up-to-date.

It is necessary, however, to remind you that we have frequent power outages in Florida during the summer. This can cause a brief interruption in our ability to respond quickly to requests from our customers.

Sometimes our phone lines go down, as well as our computers, due to these frequent thunder storms. Earlier this year we switched to an IP phone system that continues to take messages for us when the power is out locally. Hopefully, it will ensure that no calls go unanswered. It might take 24 - 48 hours before we can check our messages at times, but you can be sure that you will have our full attention just as soon as we can download your message.

We have posted notices on our contact page about our inability to answer the many emails we get from people wanting to sell to us. That also applies to phone sales calls. We always give current customers priority when returning phone calls and potential customers second priority. So if we don't answer your sales call, it's most likely because we are not currently buying what you have to sell. If we tried to answer all the sales calls and emails we get, we would not have time for our customers.

This is why we don't post our phone number on our website. We're listed in enough phone directors that finding our phone number should be easy enough for most customers. Just check Yellowpages.com or any other online directory and I'm sure we will be listed under "Plate Lady".

Phone sales solicitors go through great lengths to get phone numbers that they can call, in hopes of getting a sale. There are automated 'spiders' that search for email addresses and phone numbers on websites, so they can add them to a database that they then sell to solicitors. Once a solicitor has our phone number, the calls never stop. We have even had to put some solicitors on Call Block because they ignore our repeated request to be taken off their calling lists. Sales calls use up valuable time and tie up lines that should be open for our customers.

If you do call and get our voice mail, please be patient and leave a message. There is a possibility that our computers are down due to a thunder storm. Or we might be speaking with other customers or sales solicitors we can't get off the phone. If you don't leave a message, we won't know you called.
